TAMPA, Fla. – October 15th, 1998 – Microsystems Technology Inc., a leader in information capture software, was named one of the fastest-growing companies in the country by Inc. magazine for the second year in a row in the magazine’s October 15 issue of the "Inc. 500." Microsystems Technology ranked 440th in 1998 and 87th in 1997.
Microsystems’ information capture product, OCR for Forms™, with more than 8,000 licenses installed worldwide, was twice named the product of the year by Imaging magazine.
This is President and CEO Charles Jackson’s fifth time on the "Inc. 500 list." The first three times were for Collier-Jackson Inc., a 150-employee software development company that developed accounting, human resource, and newspaper administration solutions for Hewlett-Packard and Digital Equipment Corporation mini-computers. Major clients included Knight-Ridder and Harte Hanks. Jackson sold that company to CompuServe in 1987. He continued as president for a year then launched Microsystems Technology a year later.
